Grand Jury Unseals Search Warrant Pertaining to Lago Vista Body Shop
Following presentation of case material to a jury at the Roman L. Hruska Federal Courthouse in Lincoln, Nebraska on the afternoon of January 17th, presiding Chief Judge Robert Rossiter, Jr., ordered the unsealing of business records secured under the ECPA. Full release is awaiting redaction of name of the compliance officer who serviced the law enforcement request. US District Attorney Susan Lehr’s office commented during arguments that the warrant included material from Google LLC. The registration information was domesticated in Santa Clara County Superior Court and was stated to tie a registration address for a Meta Facebook Page account, to accounts affiliated with an owner “Collision Crash Repair” in Lago Vista, Texas.
The search warrant is believed to be tied to the District Attorney’s ongoing investigation into a facebook group organized to attack a Lancaster County, Nebraska resident. The US District Attorney’s office was forwarded complaints from both the Lancaster County Sherriff’s Office and Lincoln Police Department regarding a hate group with at least one member and one victim living in Lancaster County Nebraska.
The Federal Grand Jury meets every other Tuesday, and if necessary Wednesday, to hear evidence on, and issue, indictments. A notice of intent to bring civil suit against the Collision Crash DBA was found in a search of the Lancaster County Court house digital database.
